Muslim Community Outreach

Allah سبحانه وتعالى says in the Quran: "And hold firmly to the rope of Allah all together and do not become divided." (Quran 3:103)
This divine command forms the foundation of our Muslim Community Outreach program, which strives to serve, unite, and uplift our diverse Muslim community.

Faith and Action: The Core of Islam

Our beloved Prophet Muhammad ﷺ emphasized the inseparable nature of faith and action, saying:
"The best of people are those who are most beneficial to people." (Tabarani)
This hadith encapsulates the essence of our outreach efforts. Allah سبحانه وتعالى consistently links faith with righteous deeds throughout the Quran: "Indeed, those who have believed and done righteous deeds - they will have the Gardens of Paradise as a lodging." (Quran 18:107)

Prioritizing Community Needs

Recognizing the diverse needs of our community, particularly the challenges faced by refugee families with limited resources, we strive to prioritize our efforts effectively. Our approach is guided by the Quranic principle:
"And they give [them] preference over themselves, even though they are in privation." (Quran 59:9)

Our services include:

The competition is designed to be inclusive, catering to participants of all ages, from young children to adults. Preparations begin as early as 6-7 months before the contest, allowing ample time for participants to memorize and perfect their recitations. Importantly, the focus of the competition is on the recitation of the Holy Quran, rather than on the intricate rules of Tajweed. This approach ensures that the competition remains accessible to both Arabic and non-Arabic speakers, embodying the universal nature of the Quran's message.

Judging and Awards

1. Mediation Services: Facilitating resolution of day-to-day disputes, following the Quranic injunction: "And if two factions among the believers should fight, then make settlement between them." (Quran 49:9)
2. Educational Support: Assisting brothers and sisters in college placements, inspired by the hadith: "Seeking knowledge is an obligation upon every Muslim." (Ibn Majah)
3. Employment Assistance: Helping community members find jobs, as the Prophet ﷺ said: "No one eats better food than that which he eats out of the work of his hand." (Sahih al-Bukhari)
4. Day-to-Day Support: Addressing various daily needs of our community members, embodying the hadith:
"Whoever relieves a believer of a distress from the distressful aspects of this world, Allah will rescue him from a difficulty of the difficulties of the Hereafter." (Sahih Muslim)

The Value of Community Service

Our beloved Prophet ﷺ emphasized the superiority of community service over individual worship, saying: "Helping a brother in difficulty is more beloved to Allah than months of seclusion in the mosque." (Tabarani) This powerful hadith motivates us to prioritize active community engagement and support.

Call for Support and Volunteerism

We humbly invite our community members to join us in this noble endeavor, through volunteering and donations. Allah سبحانه وتعالى says: "And whatever good you put forward for yourselves - you will find it with Allah. Indeed, Allah of what you do, is Seeing." (Quran 2:110)

Community Events and Gatherings

In addition to our support services, we organize various community functions to foster unity and brotherhood. These events are inspired by the Quranic verse: "The believers are but brothers, so make settlement between your brothers. And fear Allah that you may receive mercy." (Quran 49:10) Some of our notable events include:
1. Eid Celebrations: Joyous gatherings to mark our blessed festivals, following the Sunnah of the Prophet ﷺ.
2. Family Days in the Park: Fostering community bonds in a relaxed setting.
3. Praying in the Park: Adapting our worship practices during the COVID-19 pandemic, embodying the principle of flexibility in Islam.
4. Welcoming New Muslims and Refugees: Extending our support to new members of our community, as Allah سبحانه وتعالى says:
"And the first forerunners [in the faith] among the Muhajireen and the Ansar and those who followed them with good conduct - Allah is pleased with them and they are pleased with Him." (Quran 9:100)
5. Graduation Celebrations: Recognizing and encouraging educational achievements in our community.
6. Interfaith Visits: Building bridges with other faith communities, inspired by the Quranic principle of mutual understanding:
"O mankind, indeed We have created you from male and female and made you peoples and tribes that you may know one another." (Quran 49:13)
7. COVID-19 Support: Distributing aid packages during the pandemic, embodying the Quranic principle:
"And cooperate in righteousness and piety." (Quran 5:2)
Our Muslim Community Outreach program is a manifestation of our commitment to serving Allah سبحانه وتعالى by serving His creation. We strive to embody the teachings of the Quran and the example of our beloved Prophet Muhammad ﷺ in all our endeavors. May Allah سبحانه وتعالى accept our humble efforts, increase us in righteousness, and make our community a beacon of Islamic values and brotherhood. Ameen. "And say, 'Do [as you will], for Allah will see your deeds, and [so will] His Messenger and the believers.'" (Quran 9:105)
